2016-2017 Toyota Tacoma (Projector Style Headlamp)

The 2016-2018 Toyota Tacoma came with Projector-style Low Beam headlamps with H11 halogen bulbs. The high beam uses a reflector style housing with H9 halogen bulbs.

To upgrade the projector low beam to get more light output, you can install HID or LED conversion.  The Concept Series HID H11 Kit is the best option for its amazing light output. The L1 Series LED Projector Specific H11 Kit is the best LED option.

An LED Kit is the best choice for high beam upgrade. LED’s instant-on property is perfect for quick flashes of high beam. We do not normally recommend going with HIDs for High Beam applications, because all HID lighting has a brief warmup period when turned on.

Different models of 2016-2018 Toyota Tacoma use H11 or H16(JP) bulbs as fog lights.  H11 or H16(JP) are very similar to each other, and the only difference is that an H11 halogen runs at 55W while the H16(JP) halogen is only 19W, so there is a big difference in their overall output. This means you have many of the same options for lighting upgrades.

We do not normally recommend HID for fog light upgrade. Fog light housings are normally smaller, so the drastic light output increase will give you a lot of glare. LEDs tend to make better choices for Fog Light upgrades. The T1 Series LED H11 Kit is a great candidate. Another cool fog light upgrade is to change your fog light to dual color (6000K white and 3000K Yellow).

In your options for LED upgrade, we do not recommend the fan cooling LED bulbs for fog lights. Besides the glare issue similar to HID bulb, the life the fans will drastically be reduced when exposing to an excessive amount of elements. The lower mount fog lights are close to dust and mud on the ground, therefore, are very easy to attract elements.
